Using your stick & Poke kit

Everything you need to tattoo in a clean and safe way has been included in the kit.
Below is a quick rundown on how to do a tattoo at home using the kit. Follow this info to make sure your tattoo heals well and looks great.

How to:

  1. Clean Everything
Wash your hands really well with soap and water. Put on gloves to keep everything as clean as possible. Prepare the area you are tattooing by using a razor to shave and sterilise with the alcohol wipes.
  2. Design Your Tattoo
Use the tattoo transfer paper to create your design for the stencil or lightly draw the design on your skin with a sterilised pen. If using a stencil, apply a small amount of stencil gel to the prepped area and peel away to reveal the stencil.
  3. Set up the Needle
Open the sterile needle and attach it to the needle tool. There are little grommets included to secure the needle. Donโ€™t touch the tip!
  4. Get the Ink Ready
Pour ink it into a clean ink cap. Never use regular ink like pen or India ink, since that can cause infections.
  5. Start Tattooing
Dip the needle into the ink and start poking your skin following the stencil. Keep the skin tight (stretch the skin) with one hand and poke with the other. Always poke the needle at an angle. You should hear a little pop sound as you poke. Dip into your ink about every 3-5 pokes. You donโ€™t need to go too deep.
  6. Take Your Time
Stick and poke tattoos take a while, so be patient. You might need to go over the same lines a few times to get the desired result.
  7. Clean Up
When youโ€™re done, clean the area, pat it dry, and use the ointment included.
  8. Aftercare
Keep your tattoo clean and dry. Apply a thin layer of ointments. Donโ€™t pick or scratch the tattoo. See here for aftercare instructions.

Be Safe:

Sterilisation is Key: Clean your work area, your hands and the area on your body you are tattooing.

Allergic Reactions: Some people are allergic to certain inks, so be mindful of that.

Skin Damage: If you go too deep or are too rough, you might end up with scars. Go easy. Better to do another sesh later on that go to deep/hard on the first tattoo.
